hey people.... its been some time since we posted anything... our project got featured in the Indian Express Daily on the 8th of Nov 2007.... so posting a scan of the paper article...
great job.... but dont you think credit is being taken for more than what you've really done? I mean okay u wrote the apps but the table and all is like being done by so many people.
hey ... we would echo what you said... but trust me the media doesn't look at it that way... we are in contact with people who have been covered all over the europe tabloids for multitouch development... and each one boasts of the whole thing as one (hardware and software)... for that matter you cant really give any credit to MS Surface ... FTIR and mulit-point input as a technology existed since 1984 (look up bill buxton)... jeff han patented it in 2004 or maybe 03.. so i believe in the tech field you get recognised for the overall expirience and not the detials and integrities of the product.
PS : you can always state your name... anonymity kills the opportunity to discuss critical design issues ... i am sure we can have a good discussion over the whole thing... and i am sure i will get to understand a viewpoint other than mine... which could be better / stronger !!!
The Only reason I woundnt state my name is because i like to exercise someright and some freedom that no other place or thing in the entire world gives me.The internet lets me speak beyond race, and stereotypes...
Hey since I'm here id really wanna ask where did u get ur IR LEDS...? I'm in india too and all i can get are remote control LED's which are okay but not great...
There are critics every where the basic in everythng remain the same in the world but innovation is what plays the major role and I guess everyone understand what I am saying. You guys have done a brilliant job in making the product and now the application guys...Cheers
Anyway I got some brilliant Ideas to share with you guys....
A touch sensitive desktop, that will enable its users to interact with digital content in the same way they interact with other objects; using their hands and gestures ...
And yes, we think, this is the first of its kind built in India, atleast the first one which is documented.

I'm really Glad you think that way...
As long we understand that there is a lot of mutuality in research...
